Today we woke up early, packed, and picked up our rental car. Jacob didn’t add me as a driver, so he’s going to be doing the driving in the north island.
Once we got the rental car and constantly reminded ourselves to stay on the left. Also got over the fact that all the controls are backwards.. Jacob kept signaling with the windshield wipers. We headed for Middle Earth and the Shire. Wandering around Hobbiton was enjoyable.
After Hobitton, we drove to our hotel in Hamilton and got some essentials for the next month, a small cooler, some beach towels, garbage and plastic bags, and snacks. Then we grabbed dinner at a local BBQ place. We got a giant platter and it was good.
Since there isn’t much going on in Hamilton we decided to do an escape room. It was a lot of fun but we didn’t do the greatest since the room had some bugs.
