We crawled out of bed at 2am and went to guest checkin and grab a lite breakfast while waiting for our bus number to be called. We boarded the bus and made it to the airport to be ushered thru an abbreviated airport security process. We boarded the plane at the sun was rising.
We landed in Ushuaia, waited for our bags, and then boarded yet another bus 🚌. They took us to downtown Ushuaia to wander around for a couple hours before boarding the boat. We started by walking to the waterfront and get our picture with the giant Ushuaia sign. we also grabbed a pic of the boat in the distance and Jacob needed to pinch it out of the water.
We walked back thru downtown and get Jacob a giant crab for lunch. It was a very spiked crab 🦀 and Jacob came away with lunch war wounds.
After the crab feast we walked around more and then headed back to the bus at the appointed time. Luckily everyone was punctual and we quickly left for the pier to board the boat. Once on board we picked up our souvenir explorer jackets, went to our room, and checked out the view from our balcony.
We then stopped by a champagne reception and had a snack as the ship set sail towards the Drake passage.
We then spent the rest of the day exploring the ship. I also started experiencing some motion sickness and took some Dramamine. We had a long day getting up at 2am and went to bed fairly early.
