DAY 116

Today we got to sleep in a bit, the landing was delayed by two hours, so Jacob and I enjoyed the extra sleep. Our landing today is at Horseshoe Island (67°51′S 67°12′W).

This island is home to historical Station Y, an old British research station from the 1950s. There weren’t many penguins to be seen here, but most of the rocks on the island had green streaks of malachite. Once off the boat we hiked up a hill to see the view.

After taking in the views of the island we got in line to enter Station Y, only 12 people were allowed in at a time.

After the landing I was feeling a bit unwell of it so I decided to skip the afternoon cruising and lay down, but Jacob went and took a few pictures. He said I didn’t miss much on the cruise.

That night we had dinner with our new friends Brian and Paul and then played cribbage together in the lounge.
