Today is the first day of our 4 day canoe trip down the Whanganui River. Unfortunately the sky is still cloudy and there is a continuous drizzle. We took a bus to the river let in and got the gear in the boat.
After learning the basics of canoeing and deciding that Jacob would be the rudder, we set out on our adventure. Luckily it wasn’t raining on the river.
After a couple hours of paddling we stopped for lunch and to stretch our legs. After we got back on the river and made our way to camp for the night.
Once at the camp site, we got our tent set up and went for a swim to cool off. Then started playing cribbage, drinking beer, and chatting with the other people on the tour.
